An annual interfaith event that brings together political, religious, civic, and international leaders to pray for Ukraine — for peace, unity, victory, justice, and spiritual renewal.
This year, the National Prayer Breakfast of Ukraine will take place on August 23, 2026, in Kyiv, bringing together high-level Ukrainian of`ficials, international partners, faith leaders, military personnel, chaplains, families of fallen heroes, charitable organizations, and youth leaders.
The event is held under the patronage of the President of Ukraine and continues a tradition that began in the United States in 1953.
The idea of the event
At the heart of the National Prayer Breakfast lies prayer — as an act of national unity, spiritual renewal, and international solidarity. The event serves as a space for sincere dialogue on faith, freedom, responsibility, and the power of prayer, especially in times of profound challenges.
This year’s Prayer Breakfast carries special historical significance, marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
For decades, the Soviet regime imposed state atheism, restricted religious freedom, and persecuted churches and believers. Its collapse opened the way for the restoration of faith, freedom of conscience, and the revival of spiritual life across the region. Today, Ukraine stands as a country where religious freedom is upheld and diverse faith communities live and serve openly, even in the midst of war.
For security reasons, the venue will be announced in a separate letter prior to the event.
